    Izzie,

No, not my pet. I do not believe in keeping wild animals as pets.

I am soooooooo glad they are banned in the UK, sorry.

The sooner they become extinct the better.

Any good doggie owner will tell you that a well trained dog, no matter what breed, is a good dog. I know...my young son from Oz has two of them and also a neighbour slightly across the road from where we live here owns one. They are absolutely adorable and good tempered dogs.

There are no bad dogs, just bad dog owners. Just like there are no bad drones, just bad drone operators. Hopefully this whole drone fad will pass (go extinct) soon enough.

    Re: Pit Bull Trainer:

Pitties can indeed be very lovable to their owners. That is also what causes people to be complacent about what they are capable of doing.

Dog breeds differ because they were genetically manipulated to achieve certain traits. You don't train shepards to hunt birds and you don't train golden retrievers as guard dogs for a reason. You can't train out genetics. Pit bulls were bread for the singular pupose of killing other dogs. And they are good at it. I've been around raising and training them to hunt wild hogs. I've personally seen a 60lb dog take down a 600lb wild boar. They are killing machines.

You can ignore the facts if you want, but statistically the VAST majority of people in the USA that are killed or maimed by dogs are victims of pit bull attacks. And the vast majority of those victims are children. And the numbers are way out of proportion to the number of pit bulls relative to other breeds.

Not saying they can't be loving pets. But they are like loaded guns. Very harmless until the trigger is pulled. The challenge is in recognizing/understanding what will pull the genetic trigger. Like Dirty Harry said, "do you feel lucky"?
