My settings are for projected images not prints, which is what David asked about. With my projector image settings used on a fully calibrated projector set up they match my fully calibrated monitor.

Sorry, I misunderstood. The process you are using is quite similar to the one I use for prints, and what you are doing makes perfect sense. You are boosting brightness and contrast to counteract the relativly dark output and low contrast that the projector outputs. Both a print and a projected image are effectively images that you are viewing using reflected light.

The part I can't explain is why you need different parameters for Photoshop and Lightroom. The processing engines are identical and in my testing, the two produce identical results when I use the same settings for both (ACR and Lightroom).

Manfred, Lightroom and the adjustment layer in Photoshop are different animals, the brightnes adjustment is far more agressive than the exposure slider in Lightrooms develop module.

Got you now, I think. What fooled me a bit is your wording where you said "process their images as if they are going to print them". I guess I took that the wrong way, and assumed that you are using the same parameters to print as for displaying with a projector.

I have never been happy with the way prints come out of Lightroom and have always used Photoshop. My wife can't be bothered with Photoshop and does all her edits in Lightroom, but then hands the images over to me to prepare for printing on our Epson 3880. I guess I go excited because perhaps there was a way of setting up Lightroom to get the same results out of Photoshop and my wife could do her own prints.

    Perhaps not. Thanks for clarifying.

Manfred, you are not mistaken, I do use the same parameters but once I am satisfied that they will look good as a print I add my projected image settings.

Your Wife should be able to print perfect prints from Lightroom, I now use nothing else to edit my images and get prints out of my Epson 3880 that match to a point where I can not see a difference what is displayed on my Eizo monitor. Funny thing is I am the opposite to you as I was never happy with my prints from Photoshop.
