    Staying In!

I thought that I would share this as my first image shared here, this was shot at a recent roller derby bout, C&C welcome (I may have over sharpened a bit for tinypic)

    Staying In!

    Shot with a Pentax Kr, FA 50mm 1.4, 1/250 @ F 2.4

    Hi Mel,

Nice effort, I think the sharpening is fine.

Great action and expression, fighting for the right side of the line. I do not think it is over-sharpened.. In fact it seems a whisper soft to my eye, which could be that the woman in blue is at the back of the DOF at that aperture, her motion at 1/250, or easily as likely, my eye.

Good action shot Mel - and welcome to the CiC forums by the way.

Is the WB (White Balance) correct?
The colours look a little 'off' to me, especially the skin tones - although I do appreciate that you may well have been shooting under far from ideal lighting and it may be an artefact of that.
In other words; rather than a simple adjustment of WB (Hue and Tint), it may require tweaking the 'colour gains' - that panel in whatever software you use that allows adjustment of saturation, hue, etc. of the primary and secondary colours, etc.

Dave, Thanks for the suggestion, I am not sure on the WB I will fool with the RAW image and see what happens, I am still pretty new to PP and colorblind to boot!

Good action shot, Mel. Looks like ballet on wheels to me. Pity about the position of the official's hand but that can't be helped.
