    Frosty

Returned to Llanelli this morning, Jack Frost had paid it a visit again but as I was earlier in the day than yesterday there are more shots of the frost than birds. This is one of my favourites, but will add a couple more as I get to them

    Frosty

    C & C welcome as always

    Re: Frosty

Thanks Shane, John, a few more from the day -

    #1 - a grass seed head
    Frosty

    #2 - a umbellifer - probably cow parsley
    Frosty

#3 - also an umbellifer but smaller, possibly wild carrot
    Frosty

#4 - a leaf, I liked the way this looked like a fossilised insect and how the grass starts at the bottom with summer moving to autumn and then winter all on one stem

Nice set of images. You did a nice job of capturing the beautiful little details that most people walk by without noticing. Well done.

A pity about the reflected light spots in the bottom left corner of the first image which does cause some distraction. But probably too many to clone out.

I tried shooting some umbellifer seedheads today but when viewed on my computer the background was terrible not like the nicely neutral backgrounds of your other shots.

I actually really like the reflected light spots in the first image, but for me the dark line maybe tree trunk running parallel to the subject distracts for me. I do really like the frosty sparkle in the other images and agree the neutral background really sets them off! Well done.

I like the backlighting of #1 image, Mark...although the rest are good too, I particularly enjoyed looking at the last one -- where every hair of the stem and leaf has icycles. Very unusual shot. Good lighting....

    Re: Frosty

Thanks Kay, I agree about the dark line, I may try to clone it out a bit to reduce its impact. I like the reflected light spots as they are from ice so fit the image for me.
    Izzie, appreciated, thanks you.

A great set, Mark, but #4 with that spectacular colour change along with the frost coating and set off by the brown leaf is absolutely splendid!

Beautiful set. I especially adore the 1st image - so beautiful! I'd love to hang it on one of my walls.

I particularly like the first and last image too, Mark. I like the colours and light in the first one, and I find the composition of the last shot quite striking.

That's what I was thinking. Takes concentration to get one's self to pay attention to such little things. The macro shots are nice, but the first one is my favorite as well. The BG is just the right amount OOF, and it's beautiful!

    Re: Frosty

Thank you Frank, Christina, Greg and Nick, a good dollop of praise from me goes to the forum here and all of you for encouraging me to look more and be more critical of my photography. I conciously look 'wider' now for images to capture rather than limit myself to subjects that I normally focus on and miss these.
