I woke up early
This would not do very exciting to many of my friends out there but, it was amazing and exciting to my wife and I. We woke up to snow this morning...
Front driveway
Back yard
The reason that this is amzing is that we live in San Diego County, California. Granted that at 1,500 feet above sea level but, this is the first time that we have ever seen snow....

Re: I woke up early
Quite astonishing! While I got rained on while camping in the desert when I lived in SanDiego it never snowed! The images seem quite dark; they were taken under a thick overcast sky?

Re: I woke up early
The images were taken right after dawn in the early light. The snow began to melt as soon as full light arrived. After all, this is Southern California!
They say that San Diego County has the largest variety of micro-climates of any county in the nation. This is just a small example of that because we live only about twenty miles apart from a friend who experienced only rain. He lives at a 700 feet elevation while I live at 1,500 feet.

Re: I woke up early
No wonder we have such a dearth of the white stuff up here! Sorry Richard, but I don't think that's an eligible good under NAFTA. Give it back!!! Snow sports are the only thing that make the cold bearable up here.
Pretty images, btw. Criminally so.

Lovely images, I would have been excited too! Weather patterns are resuming normal programming down here. We had very cool windy days this week, but forecast is for x2 over 40 (100+ish) days to come on Friday/Saturday

Re: I woke up early
Actually, Dave, the upcoming weather prognosis looks very nice... It will be in the 60's and 70's Farenheit (15.5 and 21 Celsius) during the day after tomorrow. However, tonight we expect freezing temperatures...
We usually have at least one or two nights of frost each year where I live. Usually, it is right around New Years but, we have never experienced snow at my home. I suspect that the frost is the reason for lack of fleas in my yard. Apparently our Southern California fleas are not very hardy little buggers...

Re: I woke up early
Hey! if it snows in Hawaii, there is no excuse for San Diego not to have one too... I had never experienced snow when I was living there either...
Kay! ouch! 40-ish is hot! Holly Molly!
