    Lunar First Quarter

This is the moon. As probably you can tell...

But I just thought I'd share, and see if any of you had some helpful comments. It's a little dim, but I didn't want to brighten it up too much because details became harder to see when I did. I was trying to get a neutral gray WB, as it was high in the sky, how does it look to you?

    Thanks for looking!

    BTW Happy new year!

Thanks for your prompt reply. It was there the moment I first saw the forum board again. How did you do that so fast?

Just an after thought, my title "First Quarter" doesn't have any thing to do with the other "First Quarter" titles on the board. It refers to the stage the moon's at in it's cycle.

    Hi Nick,

    I got confused
    Doesn't take much

I added the word Lunar to the thread title to avoid that in future.

    Happy New Year, Dave

Great capture Nick. It's difficult to get the moon solo much better than this.

Nice shot. Very sharp. Maybe just a little selective brightness increase in the shadow areas -no further out than the two largest seas, would enhance the detail in those areas but leave the outer areas nicely exposed as they are.

Thanks for your compliments Frank. Then what is NASA fooling around with million dollar equipment for? I just used bridge camera with 1200 mm equiv. zoom

    Thanks Benjy!

Thanks for the suggestion Graham. I did give it a try.
