Re: Egrets take two
Hi Barbara It seems that you solved the noise issue and those images are not as noisy as the ones before. I can still see some noise but I don't know if it is because of the high ISO. What were your settings for the shots?
I loved #3, very nice bird and I like the exposure , no blown out hightlights on the bird at all. I also like the colors in the image. For the composition, I would crop half of the reflection as it is a bit distracting this way.
For the other images I think you have some brightness issue, you need to reduce highlights/brightness in the images and you need to bring out some details on the birds.Lovely compositions though. Cropping the reflection in #4 might help but it is better to decide whether to crop or not after some PP work, because bright parts distract now.
I'm not a bird shooter. I'm sure bird shooters might be more help to you, but I can certainly say that you are good at this

Re: Egrets take two
Thanks Binnur I will try your suggestions. I am really lacking PP skills, and need to get better at it. The ISO was 1000 on all these not sure if that accounts for any noise. I know that Aperture software is not helpful with the noise

Re: Egrets take two
Barbara, ISO 1000 doesn't sound very high but it depends on your camera and if your software is not very good at reducing noise, may be that's why we can't see very clear images.
As I said before , I'm not a bird shooter but there are experienced bird shooters here in CinC . If you write down your settings while uploading your photos, I'm sure the experienced bird shooters might help you better to solve the issues

Re: Egrets take two
still a little noisy, but much better. can you post one or two unedited photos (resizing is fine) so we can compare the noise before and after editing? it may help us pin down whether the noise is coming from the camera or the processing. the third one is very well done, wonderful pose and detail in the feathers.

Re: Egrets take two
Much better, the 2nd and 3rd are exposed very nicely.

Re: Egrets take two
Sometimes, with difficult light, you can get a bit of noise in the shadows even with Iso 100. In which case, all you can do is to attempt some selective reduction on just the problem areas.
