Beautiful!
Nice shot, John. Too bad the street light on the right had burned out. I think that might have made an even more interesting shot with better lighting on the right hand side.
Rainwater can make for some excellent cityscape reflections, John.
Given the streetlight situation, do you have enough detail to consider a square cropped Elliot Square only version?
wonderful street shot, i love the reflection and the orangey hues from the streetlight.
I still like the whole scene even if the other light was burnt out...and he reflection adds to the shot too. Lovely.
I'm giving this one a thumbs up too.
Yes the streetlight is bright, but to me the darkness on the other side of the lovely arch seems a whole lot more mysterious.
I can see why the scene caught your attention.
I like the shot. Great reflections and a nice artificial light colour tone, I just wish the light that isn't burnt out had some sort of shade over it because it's a bit too bright and distracting for me. Maybe if it had been balanced by the other one it wouldn't be so obvious. But as I say, I still like it.
Nicely captured John, well done.
A good learning exercise for the next photoshoot then. It seems to take forever to 'see' all the potential issues before pressing the shutter. I may never get there!
Other than the really bright streetlight, this image is an excellent light verses dark study and as such, I think it works very well as it is.
I can only aspire to shots like this, but actually, I like the fact that the light on the right is out. I think it tells more of a story, adds interest and intrigue to the scene. More than that, it suggests the two sides to every bright and vibrant city scene.
