    New Disc Photoshop and Lightroom?

Hi, Maybe asked before but I have Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom5 but after I upgrade my hard drive I’m wondering do I need them both especially as Adobe have upgraded ACR and seems not a lot of difference between that and Lightroom5.
    Any thoughts on this please?
    Many Thanks
    Russ

This really depends on your personal workflow. I assume you are thinking that you want to do your RAW processing in Lightroom 5 and then flip to Photoshop 6 for more complex parts of the edit?

Sure that will work and if you don't want to go to Abobe's subscription model and Adobe CC 2014, then this might be the right move for you. It was not the workflow I wanted (I don't particularly like the Lightroom data model or user interface), so I went to the subscription model; which was the right answer for my workflow.

I suspect at some point, you will have to make a call on that; CS6 is getting a touch long in the tooth.

They are designed for different purposes. It is a bit like asking if you need both a car and a motorbike - only you will know the answer.

Warning if you want to reinstall Photoshop make sure you de-register the current copy on your computer. Otherwise when you reinstall you may have a problem - especially true if you go to install on another computer. Lightroom is a bit more forgiving provided you do not have it on more than two computers..

Not a problem if you are just creating a disk image.
