How do you get an image from iPhone

My wife shot a couple of images using her iPhone 6+ and they turned out relatively well. We can view them on the iPhone LCD but cannot get them downloaded.

We tried the connecting the iPhone to our computer (Windows based) and accessing the images through iTunes and nothing happened.

Then I tried mailing the images to my email address - it sounded like the image was mailed but, I never got the images.

Apple stuff is O.K. until you need to interface with a Windows based system and then it is often a PITA...

Have you tried Photo Downloader in Adobe Bridge Richard.

It should recognize the iPhone as a camera.

Doesn't recognize her iPhone 6+ but it does recognize my iPhone 5. Suspect that there is a problem with her phone...

    Yeah. Mine's a 5'er.

Sorry Richard. You might try texting the photos to your 5 and see if that gives any joy.

I've always e-mailed the photos to myself. It has always worked for me.

    I have a 5s.

I had the same issue with a few phones and mp3 players, I would often have to reconnect the device until it showed as an external drive on the computer. Whenever I connected the device to the computer, it would start charging the battery, so I would sometimes have to wait until the device fully charged.

Nice link Rob, I found it strange that he chose to "cut" rather than copy when he was transferring the images and video between his iPhone and Win PC.

I always use the Samsung PC software (Kies 3) to interface my S3 to my windows PC. But I just tried connecting the phone direct to the PC and using Windows file manager and it worked just as well. It just sees the phone as an external device - in fact the phone displays a message to that effect. I can then just drag the shots from the phone to my PC.

Richard, if you can't get it to work, try taking the iPhone to the Apple Store. They may be able to determine what is needed and may be able to get the images off the phone for you if the phone is defective.

Richard, I am finding not so easy even when going "apple to apple." I work with a MBP and I have recently bought an iPhone. The photos load into a cloud photo stream easy enough but even with the Mac they are not accessible unless I open Aperture (or iPhoto), something I am not inclined to do these days.

Apple products are solid in terms of hardware but the applications are getting to be pretty mediocre.
