    The yellow rose of TESCO

It's a rose, and it came from TESCO!

Eleven manually focused images stacked in Helicon. Canon 5DM2 Canon 100mm macro with 30mm extension tubes to get closer. Single studio head flash with softbox. Best viewed in lightbox.

    Comments welcome.

Great title Rob, made me chuckle. Rose are such wonderful subjects given the intricate lines and colours not to mention the aroma.

Hey Rob, I turn my kids loose to do the grocery shopping while I peruse the floral section...works for me.

Maybe you could try more contrast with that great rose image.

Really nice. Well-focused nonetheless soft looking at the same time. I'm with William on contrast - seems to sit overall pretty to the right on the histogram.

I really need to learn more about focus staking, I have some "very good" in my opinion at least photos of my roses, but I want them to look like this. This is a beautiful picture, yellow roses always seem to have such a great fragrance and intensity of colors.

That's a beautiful shot. The individual petals have such a ntense depth and softness/dreaminess rather than being paper thin. Well done Tesco !!!!

Don't knock the TESCO points. Over the past three months we have had three separate holiday cottages in the UK, each one discounted by £100 - a total of £300! Mind you, I don't have many points left.

It's a very simple setup, Connie. Just a single diffused light just to the left as close to the flower as possible (that makes the light softer). The extension tubes allow you to get in closer, although I did still crop a bit off.

    Nicely done.

I take it that TESCO is the UK equivalent to our Costco?

Well, Dan, put it like this - I'm surprised TESCO have not extended their reach to Alaska yet...

Absolutely gorgeous! I especially adore the framing and view point (layers).

Yes, I'm working hard on kittens playing with a ball of wool at the moment...
