    I just wonder if you could get away with a 5 x 4 ratio crop here?

    While those dark markings on the water in the top left corner look nice on their own, I'm finding that they tend to dominate over those pastel shades of the bird.

    I'm thinking about just a slight crop from the top to reduce the amount of heavy dark streaks, not totally remove them.

    Thanks John and Geoff. Geoff, had not even noticed that but now I see it. I will try with the suggested crop.

    Perhaps try to reduce the highlights on the water but not on the bird because the bird's beak is a little lost in the surface brightness. Conversely maybe darken the bill just a little.
