    originally he was sitting with his wings extended. When I tried to get close he flew into the crevice. Lots of shadow and the white areas were very bright. A good teaching tool for pp.

    Just wondering, but is that actually a moth? Which would explain the rather dark location.

    I often see this type flying in the daylight. When I first saw him he was on our patio. Later he flew into the greenery. But he may well be a moth.

    It is what looks like feather shaped antennae that makes me wonder about it being a daylight moth.

    I did a web search but couldn't find a confirming photo. but he certainly has feathers.
