I really like #2 Could see this blown up and hung in a very contemporary style home or office. Sorry the designer in me comes out when I see great art! What caused the the turquoise color in the largest bubble?
For me I like #1, interesting hexagonal shapes, the colors, I could see this one hanging on a wall. Cool thing is, you could do any number of these (1&2) in different colors, for designers; very contemporary and abstracty.
FYI, I like both but the 2nd just calls to me the negative space, the colors, the shapes......the other is very nice to especially the unintended peace sign in the right corner, or at least I am guessing unintended.
Rob, humor me on you next shot like this...pull up one of your images on your monitor>position the
monitor prone on your desk>position a pane of glass several inches above that monitor>add your oil
and water and take that shot.
Very cool stuff Rob!
Always wanted to try this myself.
Rob a question or two if I may please?
In shot #2 where is the mirror reflection coming from in the top left corner? Did you have the oil/soap/water solution in the spoon again this time? Is it from the side of the spoon maybe?
Very interesting how the reflections and refractions are working inside the bubbles.
I guess your blue bounce card covered the entire bottom of the scene?

These are really fascinating images! I think #2 is especially attractive. Very creative!
In #2 I used a specimen bottle with a narrow neck, about 2in wide, so you are probably looking at part of the neck.
The blue card did cover the whole scene, but there was quite a lot of detritus in that open area. I therefore selected it in PS and did a colour fill of a matching colour.
Thanks Rob! Appreciate you taking my questions.
Very cool job in post.
These shots rock!
Yeah...love them both...#1 for the shapes and colour and #2 for the bubbles...nice and colourful. Very interesting.
Really terrific images. I just shake my head in wonder at the skill and imagination it takes to do this sort of work!
Nice Rob, the first one thows me in mind of the eden project domes, a great idea sir and nicely captured
isnt it great what you can do and get if you listen to the inner child and play
Like them both although the first one intrigues me most.
Just buy some more washing up liquid and keep creating....these are superb.
