??? Clearly not posted for photographic reasons. Are you asking for reactions to the content? I think it is crude and offensive.
Totally inappropriate for this forum.
Right, misogyny is always humorous.
Humour often does not cross borders very well.
The English sense of humour (my wife is English) often does not work on this side of the Atlantic, where the "politically correct" police is much more in charge than elsewhere in the English speaking world.
Well, it's passed my Amazon test... http://www.amazon.co.uk/read-bitch-T.../dp/B001UC4M7O
It's the world we live in now, I'm afraid. We criticise the way they they treat women in the middle-east, but we don't have to look far ourselves. Poor taste.
it amused my wife and myself, yes it pushes the edge for general consumption, but often humor does that and within the biker fraternity its not as derogatory a term as seen from the outside.
It's certainly true that there is a strong PC orientation in many quarters in the US, but that isn't why I found the post tasteless. I don't see what is humorous about calling the missing woman a "bitch." The shirt could make the same point without the gratuitous nastiness with "If you can read this, she fell off."
I find this post offensive.
It is sub-culture specific humour in biker circles. I've ridden and toured on bikes on three continents, and have seen that shirt slogan in all three. The women have shirts based on a similar theme, usually "this bitch rides her own" or "this bitch doesn't fall off"; like many shirt slogans, they can be crass but amusing. If the slogans offend, then that subculture in general would offend as that is minor compared to many of the traditions and rituals that are steeped within it.
Perhaps though, this may have been better placed in the lounge, as it isn't really about a critique of the photo or about photography, and was simply a photo from the net. So pretty much off-topic, BUT it turns it was a conversation starter
Ok folks. All points made politely and maturely, without resorting to the personalised rudeness that can often attach to these issues. Thank you.
