Heron Handoff
Nest building is a part of the Great Blue Heron mating ritual.
This image shows the brown and black patches on the wing.

Re: Heron Handoff
Cool shot. There are a couple of herons in Lubbock that I can never get close enough to to set up and take a picture of.

Very nice shot. It is neat to see these large birds building a nest. What lens were you using, may I ask?

Re: Heron Handoff
Hi Brian: This is a very nice image of the two birds interacting. You can imagine that there is some sort of conversation going on here. How far away were you from these two? What settings did you use and if you cropped the image, what percentage remains?

Re: Heron Handoff
Very nice, Brian an engaging image. You have composed this well - whether as shot or as cropped - and have nice light in it as well. Capturing birds/wildlife is one thing, capturing them with interesting actions (as here) or enhancing settings is another, better sort of achievement.
On my screen this could use bit of sharpening and noise reduction - but that's my screen and my eye.
