Nice capture on the second image, although a bit shady.

    Nice Branden!
I just purchased some extension tubes to use on my NEX with my Nikon lenses but haven't had time to take any good pictures yet.
    What is your set up?
That second shot is really cool. Just work on the lighting a bit more and you'll have it!

I was planning to do a studio shoot today of my pocket watch, also with a keychain or pocket chain, but I have to go out today. Now you will get me going too in this direction...thanks. Both this images are nicely done..how many lights did you use here? My watch doesn't show the inner workings of the clock when opened...mine must be a cheapy...

I like the 2nd shot, Branden. I think you need to watch the background in the first one. But, hey.... a REAL timepiece! Nice work.

    Thanks everyone!
I really didn't have any setup, I was just playing around at my office while waiting for the hours to tick by...That would be why the background is cruddy. I would ideally build a lightbox for this kind of thing, but haven't gotten there yet. If anyone is interested, I'll post the exif data. I would have liked to get even closer to the gears on the 2nd one, but I don't think my lens can handle it... Guess I'll need to go shopping soon!
