    MONOCHROME Mini Competition #13

Since the aim of these is to get you taking and submitting photos, let see if it can also encourage people to post monochrome (black and white) images, even if that's not in their normal photography 'diet' (e.g. like me)

    Here's how it works ...

    - You good folks post MONOCHROME images in the thread (please change your post title to a name for your picture)

    - When we get 10 images we will attach a voting poll

    - After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

    - If you would especially like some critique after the competition poll closes, please make it known in the post

    Too easy eh?

Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person.

If there are already 10 in the current comp, please start a new thread in this forums

Birmingham city centre. Used a Tokina 11-16 lens @13mm, It looked pretty compressed, so I decided to heighten the effect in CS4. Sepia tint.

this is great although a lot of model releases needed.

Mental picture of me running around Birmingham High Street waving bits of paper... "can I just..."

The last person from Birmingham to wave a bit of paper around was Neville Chamberlain, and look were that got us. This wasn't composed. I had the camera held down by my thigh and just walked along the street taking shots blind. I must have taken about 70. It was a complete fluke that it came out. I junked the rest. It was more wonky when it came out of the camera, so I had to correct it quite a bit. But a finer example of a random shot as you will ever see. Why don't you try it?

    Re: Subway

Well Rob that is a good idea and I could also wire it up with a cable release in my pocket. It will just look like I'm playing with myself. Joking.

Hmmm... I'm just thinking (dangerous) you could take it a step further and give your camera to some local plonker and tell him to go out and shoot whatever he fancies, however he fancies, and he may come back (while you are in the pub) with a masterpiece of contemporary photography! Most Flickr shots are taken that way, but don't tell anyone.

Great image, obviously you cannot use flash to freeze the image. The image has merit on its own, but would love to see the next photos in the series.

Shadowman, I don't have a series for this shot. I posted some similar shot to the General Photography forum, though, if you would like to take a look.

    Thanks!
