Re: Some of my favorite places of 2014!
Good shots Branden. Beautiful place. I would have like #1 -- this is my kind of place, high/low, isolated (almost!), lots of textures on the rocks, curving path of the water BUT that little white thingie (whatever that is...) is distracting as I looked and looked at it most of the time. I don't know -- but I would have cloned out the vestige of civilization wires...My favourite here in this series is #3. I've seen this one before. It is interesting. Where is this place?

Re: Some of my favorite places of 2014!
I haven't honed my PP skills yet - I was going to clone out the lines, but wasn't happy with the results ![Frown](https://cdn.cambridgeincolour.com/forums/images/smilies2/frown.png)
The first one is from Glenn Dam, 2nd and 3rd are from Mesa Verde - in Colorado. I have some other shots from the trip if anyone is interested. We also visited Zion National Park, Canyonlands, Newspaper Rock, Arches Nation Park, and the SLC Zoo...

Re: Some of my favorite places of 2014!
It is possible to clone out those wires but because there are so many it will be difficult to get a natural looking result.
Pity about the haze in #2. It tends to reduce the distance perspective but isn't dense enough to produce a misty scene.
The last one is excellent.

Assuming that physically removing them from the scene before shooting wasn't an option. ![EEK!](https://cdn.cambridgeincolour.com/forums/images/smilies2/eek.png)
The only other real alternative is to shoot, or crop, to totally lose the sky area and concentrate more on the river.

Bummer... no magic bullet
A crop would work, I guess - but I do like the look of the canyon walls as well. Guess I'll just have to get proficient with Gimp/Photoshop now as well.

Interesting series Branden and you have done a pretty good job on those wires.
