Cute little buggers. We have a very similar black capped chickadee which is one of only three or four species that winter over in the interior of Alaska.
The first shot is really nice. Good position on the bird and caught it by the hole. Nice job.
Both are well done , I prefer the second one as the bird seems to pop out a little better .
Originally i had thought it was the black capped but someone pointed out they were thier Northern cousins. There is also a species, the name escapes me, that is mostly in Mexico.
I have one of it upside down that i have not had a chance to do PP on. They were sure industrious and fast as all get out. The big birds are much easier to capture.
I like the first one and the second one...the second one is pretending to be a woodpecker....
I'm not sure I've ever seen a Carolina, but I've shot at Black-capped Chick's a lot. You did pretty good to get a couple of nice poses there. I especially like the one with the hole. Do you think that's the chickadees hole? I've not actually seen the place where chickadees sleep that I know of.

He was chipping away at the hole as I took his photo, getting ready to cozy up with his Mrs.
