Barbara, you might try some post production work as they look a little flat.
Aside from that, they are good starting points.
I tried to do my usual PP but lost the misty fog effect which is what I found so beautiful. I am working on PP but have a ways to go.
She's just getting her 'fog burn' on. Happens all the time down at the beach.

Both of them have a nice lighting at the left side...beautiful.
I've done this myself MANY times with various subjects. It's one of those cases where something is lost by the viewer not having the context that you do having been there. If the shot doesn't contain enough information to give the viewer that context, then it simply looks like a flat image (aka poorly processed).
Aggie is a beauty. That's a lot of hair for a Texan. Our girl Grace actually came from a kennel in the Republic. I've probably mentioned that already...
Some steam coming from it's nostrils would be a nice touch.
