Cervus Elaphus: Caught in the act.....

    Hi Photofriends,
New to your community, here's my first post....

Roaming the forest vicinity of villages "Gortel - Nierssen" in Holland. This is a forest area where game is living freely. To get them on camera is back to the basics of deer-hunting.
enjoy the pics of the stag we caught - in - the act...!

Leave the animal alone, Wankie....it is doing what it does naturally... Look at the look you got in #2. It has the "mind your own business" look...I think both shots needs a bit of straightening, don't you think? Love the lighting...

Izzie, you're totally right the deer is telling I should not interfere...!

Not interfering wildlife is my goal as rule-of-thumb, Obviously I was not succesfull this time....!

The straightening; could do, however the picture was taken on a slope, additionally, trees were reclining to the left.....

Indelicate situations aren't that unusual when ya shoot critters. That second image could make
a great portrait with better PP.

Welcome WaKie. I particularly like the second shot. It's quite classic. Perhaps a bit flat though. If you have the software to do it, it needs a slight a slight tonal shift to the left on the histogram to bring the black more into play.

I think the eyes can be drawn to the slope but I rather prefer a straightened image...must be me, what do I know?

Welcome to CiC, WanKie! Lovely composition and colouring.

It isn't really possible to verify that this image isn't level, but if it gives that 'feeling' it may be worth a slight CCW rotation so that the viewer's attention isn't pulled away from the beauty of the scene.
