[Not to mention your great work rescuing dogs. I could never do it, I'd end up with 25 dogs at least.]
I know what you mean! Sasha is my latest failed foster... I couldn't bear to see her leave. She is a Jack Russell Terrier mix. I suspect that the other breed is Papillion...

I won't ask how many permanent furry kids you have, but good to know that when one seems un-adoptable they end up in a way better home with you.

That's a great portrait shot, Jack. So characterful. She looks, proud, mischievous, and ready for a game all at once.

Thanks Greg. You pretty much nailed her on the head, she's all that and then some.

We have six dogs of our own...

Holly the doodle, Sasha the terrier and four Maltese.

Four of the six were rescues. I could not find a Goldendoodle needing rescue at the time I wanted my doodle so I got mine from Cheyenne Valley Labradoodles and Goldendoodles in Texas. . We also have one little AKC Champion Maltese who is a carry over from the time when we bred and showed Maltese. However for the last six or eight years, we have been doing only rescue.

I asked my wife how many dogs our organization has rescued and found homes for and she said thirty - THIS YEAR 2015. I estimate that our organization has helped about 250 to 300 dogs each year.

Judy is appearing on local television twice this week to advertise a fundraiser at a local restaurant. She will have to have the exact number of rescues as well as the number of people in our organization.

We are getting a Maltese female tomorrow who had a large, non-malignant tumor on her jaw. The shelter deemed her not adoptable and were going to put her down. Hope for Paws a wonderful Los Angeles Organization rescued her and paid for her surgery. We will be doing the physical therapy.

My wife Judy is a retired Registered Nurse and a retired College Nursing Professor. We therefore get many of the dogs from our organization that need special care. Between my photography and her nursing skills, we make a pretty good team. Oh yes, I am also the Go-Fer and drove abut 15,000 miles on rescue work last year.

Lots of work for both of you but well worth it, Richard...even if only for one dog at a time...
