ACTION SHOTS Mini Competition #4
The idea here is shots that are not posed, where the primary purpose of the subject is not to help you create a good image. And where there's something going on.

Here's how it works ...

- You good folks post images of ACTION in the thread (please change your post title to a name for your picture)

- When we get 10 images we will attach a voting poll

- After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

- If you would especially like some critique after the competition poll closes, please make it known in the post

Too easy eh?

Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person.

This is my first attempt at panning. Taken in an indoor arena with dreadful lighting last weekend. Any and all comments are welcome as I really don't have a clue as to how to properly use the technique and would like to learn.

I was out with my Sigma 150-500 wildlife lens when I realised that I was directly under the 'Flight Path' and there was a plane coming.



Unfortunately, thinking time was limited. So I just removed the tripod, selected AI Servo and Tv with 1/320. I know from past experience that anything faster will freeze the propellors.

Then point and click, just in time. When it was too late, I realised that the lens stabiliser was still switched off, from the tripod use; and ideally I would have selected other settings. But considering it was just a quick snap I think it worked out better than I expected.

ps. The 'airport' was constructed as a WW 2 airstrip known as RAF Hope Cove and part of the original runway is still used by a few hobby pilots.
