Different lighting technique
Using candles for lighting did not turn out as expected...used a couple low level LEDs on either side
with a couple candles in front and what a fiasco.
Was shooting tethered, with my back to the subject, and the orchid was bouncing around like
someone was shaking the plant. Figured it had to be the flickering candles.
Result is, no texture at all in the petals...c'est la vie.
Next time, maybe I use a filter on the lights.

Re: Different lighting technique
The candle flicker would have an affect the overall tone, but with a fast enough shutter speed you might be able to overcome.
