All nice shots, James...my fav is #2 and #4 best. Good poses on those two...I have a problem with #1 -- the backdrop...those circles just do not work for me at all. #2 looks best for background apart from other things like sharpness and focus, etc. and #4 for the colour. You did that very well indeed. Well done.

Minor quibble about #1 - focus on the eye seems to be off but could be my old eyes.

Great collection, James. I think in the first the problem may have been with the perch, (seems sharper nearer more than farther from the subject) but it's a mighty minor issue.

Erwin I was approximately 9-12 ft. away. (a carefully measured distance according to my minimum focusing distance of my 400 mm.
