Re: One Pic Three Variations
If there is enough there for a different crop, it would be better compositionally if there was more space in front of the subject than behind. Having said that, I do like the third version a lot - perhaps without the overlay. It is reminiscent of the old tone line process produced sandwiching Lith and line film with the original negative in the darkroom.

Re: One Pic Three Variations
Raymond, the funky filters are always fun to play with, but tend to have more relevance in the graphics arts business than they do in more traditional photography, so we don't tend to see a lot of this type of work, other than perhaps when people are trying to create a "period" look in their work.
I think John makes a very valid point; watch your composition. This has to be strong enough to stand alone, before applying any effects. The other point he makes is valid as well; these effects can be a lot of fun to work with, but subtlety often wins out over complexity, especially when applying multiple effects. One still has to catch the viewer's eye and hold his / her attention.
I'm sorry to read that you are recovering from an injury; that can't be a lot of fun at all. I was off work for almost 6 months a couple of years ago, recovering from surgery. I found that this time of year was the worst; in my case being in a cast and hobbling around on crutches in the winter...

A "Pain in the neck" it is to have a level four neck fusion. Been out of work for four months and they expect my return to be another two to three months.Thank you for the terrific feedback.

Re: One Pic Three Variations
Raymond you have three interesting variants from the image, each with their own merits. I looked at this thread earlier but...didn't comment then, however my initial thoughts have now been voiced the other respondents. Hopefully you have some space to the right of your subject to give her some breathing space, if not I would suggest extending the canvas to achieve the space. I do like the set overall, well done.

Re: One Pic Three Variations
Manfred is spot on...fix the composition first. Applying funky filters, sans a vision, does not bode well.

Raymond...I can't tell ya, but I can show ya. Kinda a hurry up, but you get the idea.
Maybe a bit more on the right.
FYI, I didn't realize how pretty she is...use her more!

Re: One Pic Three Variations
I think the third variation would have worked well if you had created a selection around her so the effect went behind not above her skin
