    A Yorkshire Sunrise

This was taken at 7.36am on September 5th last year. We were staying in a cottage in Draughton near Skipton, Yorkshire (known to the locals as God's Own County). I just went out before breakfast and saw the sunbeams filtering through the trees and I had to go and grab my camera.

Lovely capture of colours. But I'd consider making it a portrait and losing the green bushes as they detract from the wonderful sunlight

I'm not sure you could crop that tight without making it look at bit 'cramped'?

Possibly a slight crop from the bottom and around one third to a half off the left bush? That might be sufficient to lose the fractionally 'heavy' appearance of the foreground against those delicate sunbeams?

Thanks for the comments. I will look at alternative crops.

A great shot. I would not crop the bottom at all but would crop the
bush on the left 20 to 40 mm

Here is the crop. I first tried a square crop, then decided to take the edges in a bit more to remove the bushes.

I think this is better - but perhaps still lose a bit from the bottom ??

John I like the original one. Just a bit of toning out the bluish part of the shot...must be my monitor or my eyes. It is nearly 3:30am here so I can be mistaken. Anyway, your edit is sort of cramping my style, whereas the original version has that environment, especially at the right side more of that sunlight peeking through the other trunk of that tree. The blaring where the sun comes from is also good originally whereas the crop makes it blaringly distracting. Just my thoughts here. No offense meant.
