Well Mr Dave, re your observation in my post ' capturing eye contact,' do they really look as if they have not got enough to eat? Heck, you could have the RSPCA jumping on us from a great height for maltreating our stock! They are really as fat as bush pigs ( our animals, not the RSPCA, that is! ) Our two cows and three sheep have 250 acres of open native pasture to frolic around in, plus getting regular hand fed top ups with lucerne hay. Our Daughter tends to over feed them.
The ideal weight for sending beasts off to market here is around 400 to 600 kgms. We just moved on two steers which weighed in at 1400kgms and several cows weighing in between 800 to 900 kgms. We had trouble getting them up a standard size race onto the truck! Had to get in special portable mobile race.
So, I put it to you, and anyone else who wishes to comment, do these telly tubbies really look as if they are scratching for a feed? God knows what their Cholesterol is. Shudder to think!
Anyway, thanks for viewing and for your comments Dave, which pre-empted this bit of nonsense from me. But sometimes it feels good to stir a possum up a tree and have a bit of fun.
