And why would one ever do that? From a practical standpoint the horizontal and vertical FOV are what most photographers care about. Besides I doubt that a person with normal anatomy could tilt the head at that angle

I think we have officially drifted into "nothing better to talk about" territory...

Even worse, I'm home from work sick. Feeling sorry for myself even if none of you nor my bride do. The dog won't even come and sit by me. For times like this they need to add a little face with tears rolling down to the emoticon choices...

Sounds like you're really 'under the weather' on all fronts then.

    Sorry 'bout that.

My first camera was an analog Pentax in the 1980's. I paid a premium at the time for an upgraded lens - 50mm f1.4 - which I have happily used until I bought my digital camera - a pentax D200 because I could still use this wonderful, fast lens. I've found that sometimes my cropping can correct issues my feet weren't able to solve. It can be used in very low light situations, it's lear as a bell and its bouquet is wonderful. The only issue I have sometimes is that my old eyes have problems manually focusing the lens. I also have a Pentax 50-135 f2.8 that I'm learning to use.

    Nostalgia:

    . . . my first 50mm lens - was a 58mm lens; and I too paid (a lot) extra for it . . .
