    Claire the Poodle

Claire is a 2-year old Poodle we rescued from a local shelter and groomed. I photographed her in a pet store, during one of our rescue events, using a blue fabric draped over a canvas folding chair and lit by a single Canon hotshoe flash bounced off the ceiling and modified with my standard Joe Demb Flash Diffuser Pro. Pretty simple, yet effective setup...

Canon 7D, 70-200mm f/4L IS lens at ISO 160... 1/60 second @ f/4... I used Claire's white coat as my white balance target...

Nice set, Richard. What a little cutie. Those little pups make the setup a bit simpler. I always enjoy your photos.

Quite right Dan... Small dogs are easier to photograph in a controlled indoor setting than larger dogs. If I were shooting dogs the size of my Goldendoodle or your German Shorthaired Retrievers, I would use a neutral colored blanket thrown over some sort of support (or a BG stand with crossbar), The single flash would work but, I would need to switch to my 17-55mm lens for full body shot...

This dog has the saddest looking face ever. All she has to do is look up at somebody and she should be adopted no problem. Good luck with her.

Bert and Ernie have just been adopted and there are several prospective adopters interested in Claire....

Very, very nice work. Your dog photos are always super. Well Done!
I would have cheated just a tad and cloned off the hairs in front of their eyes, just because I'm picky....

I agree with the hair in front of the eyes. However, I tried cloning the hair from the eye in this image but, I did not like the results so I decided not to clone any additional images in this group...
