Amarylis opening
Not sure about this one. The textures were gorgeous in real life, but I am not sure I captured enough to make this interesting.
Canon 50D, 100mm macro, continuous halogen lighting. A stack of 4 images using Zerene DMap. I allowed myself a substantial clarity adjustment (+48) in LR, but to avoid losing details in the reds, I did the contrast adjustment in PS using a luminosity blend mode. C&C welcome, as always.

Re: Amarylis opening
Its worked extremely well Dan because those surfaces look somewhat waxy. For me there's enough captured to be of interest.
That's sure a lot of clarity used.

Well done Dan!
The Amaryllis has done so many times here at CiC that it is getting challenging to get a 'fresh look' that comes out really well. You have certainly pulled it off with this presentation!

Re: Amarylis opening
Sorry Dan, but I have to agree with your first statement. I don't think you got it either.
Having seen the flowers in person in my own backyard I know of what you speak about the texture and this picture doesn't have it, IMO.
I think you almost have to take the picture at a macro level in order to see the texture. This is close but no cigar in my book.
