    A Few Birds To Share...

Camera is in the Nikon Repair Shop (don't ask me about the experience) so what to do. The only thing keeping me from screaming in frustration is that Florida is cold now (if you live here), has been for a while and will get worse the end of the week. So I have been revisiting and re-doing past images because my skill and knowledge is better now. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Nice series, lull in shooting up north as well; so keeping up with recent edits is my mode of operation for now.

Welcome to the file flipping club, Joe. That's the order of business here for a while yet. It is interesting to apply new editing skills/tools to older images.

Excellent set. All three ducks are sharp in the BIF. Not an easy task. The Green Heron and GBH portraits are tops from an IQ standpoint. The Limpkin is great for capturing one out in the open. Nice job.

    Hi Joe,

More excellent images. Specially like the green heron, I never seem to get on a level with them.

Not sure about the little blue, to be honest. The colours seem a bit "washed out" to me.

All the best to you and Dottie. Now I know where you take the images, I'll be looking out for some perches. Even though I know the story of the busted Nikon, your secret is safe with me

It may be cold there, but it's a darn site colder here!

    All the best,

    Dave (and Margalit)

Another huge admirer of your bird images. All beautiful, the herons are especially exquisite but I suspect that you already know that my favourite is the Black-bellied Whistling Duck landing on the branches

    All very nice, Joe.

I was down there in December hoping for a major shoot and there were few birds. A guy I talked to in an outdoor clothing store in Savannah told me I was too early.

Oh well, I got practice lugging my photo gear and got to visit a lot of relatives.

More great shots Joe. I am jumping up and down about the whistling ducks! It's an excellent shot, three birds in great positions and in focus! Plus there is a nice soft, background scene. They're all great, but I'm especially attracted to the Green Heron and the limpkin, and also the burrowing owl, but it's undertail feathers are slightly confusing- I can't quite make it out.

Thanks John for your comment, very much appreciated. I hear you, your winter up north has been long and snowy.

Thanks Dan, I appreciate your viewing and commenting. I can see you spending the winter working on files, but your opportunities are so great when the season arrives.

Hello my friend, thank you for viewing and commenting. I hear you regarding the cold but my blood has thinned or something, 50 degrees and I am putting on layers but at 90 degrees I am comfortable.

Best regards to you and Margalit

Hello Christina, thank you for viewing and commenting. I kind of like the Whistling Duck landing also, love the position of the feet reaching for the branch.

Hi Bud, sorry your trip here didn't go as you had hoped. If my memory is correct the weather is December was pretty good. December was not too early but a lot of where and what birds are available depend on the water levels. We have had a lot of rain so the water was high which allows the birds to spread out across the wetlands. Anyways, you got to visit family which is always nice. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

Hi Nick, thanks for viewing and commenting. Not sure what you see regarding the Burrowing Owl tail feathers. If it's feet were showing I think it would have put that image over the top, but they sit at the entrance to their burrows to quickly duck inside if threatened.
