    Posts On A Windswept Beach

In an effort to emphasize the desolate windswept beach look I reduced contrast and clarity and did a bit of dodging. The intent being to show the sand and spray in the air. The posts then got some increase in contrast and clarity and highlights to bring out some detail. C&C solicited and appreciated.

For me, this would work better if it wasn't so bright. When we have days like that here, the conditions are usually gray.

I like the composition. The sea looks like it is painted on and the beach looks pink. I still like the
composition and I think the image will be a great one. Persevere, I'd like to see a second one but
    that is only my opinion

Andrew - it's an interesting abstract shot, but I can't say that the image is particularly compelling.

In my view, the shot has no "subject" and my eyes keep jumping around looking at the different posts and eventually run off the edge of the image. I suspect this shot would have worked better had one of the posts clearly dominated the image and the others been more in the background.

Yes I wondered about that; but thought the others must be 'ghost poles'.

Looks better at full screen size but a nice blue sky would really have helped - or a really dark sky as an alternative. The post structure is more visible at a large size but is it possible to show more texture?

This scene is almost working but somehow it doesn't quite have the wow factor.

I might have tried this shot had I been there, I think it works pretty well. Though I do think the suggestion of framing so that one of the poles was dominant, to be the center subject might have helped, but then, I think that would distract attention from the wind, so if the wind is the subject, maybe it's best if none of the poles are.

With regard to the lack of shadows; I would have to attribute that to the sloping beach.

Thanks for commenting, it always helps to have different eyes look at what I've done.
