Apparently, not these guys...they seem to be enjoying themselves... very artistic rendition....
What I like most is when someone's prepared to to try something different - to experiment; to create. Go right up to full size with it in the Lightbox. It's wonderful.
Yes it's different and works really well Greg.
Izzie, Donald, Grahame... thank you so much for your comments. I envisioned something like this when I took the photo -- and then spent several weeks learning the necessary photoshop techniques to get it to this stage. You have made my day.
Go on! Tell us how you did it!
Nice result.
John
Very cool Greg! or very hot should I say
I like this very much! It most definitely evokes the heat. Looks like the heat that radiates from pavement on an extremely hot day, something this Texan girl is all too familiar with. Great shot!
Love it! Creative, artistic, gorgeous colours and yes, the sense of heat/humidity capture wonderfully.
I like it. I was almost thinking the background was distorted by heat wave distortion, (or whatever it's called). Cool job and nice photo play.
John, John, David, Barbara, Christina, and David, thank you all for viewing, your comments are really appreciated.
Well, without going into too much detail: I isolated the main subject on its own layer, then applied various levels of horizontal and vertical motion blur and gaussian blur to different sections of the background. Then I brought the main subject back in and blended it into the background by brushing a gaussian blur around its outline. Finally, selectively applied a subtle 'orton' effect.
This is a really cool effect, and it works really well with this image.
Well done Greg!
Thanks, Mark.
Now that's definitely in the "wish I'd thought of that" category. Great imagery.
Thanks, John.
I like the concept and the PP, the beach is the perfect background.
Would be perfect with a model clad in a sarong walking ashore.
Thanks Chauncey. You are in incorrigible.
I must say though, that all of the positive feedback here is really encouraging.
Just superb !!!!!!!
I do even know how the Father and child did feel in the heat, as we had here the last days up to 42C heat........
Griddi.......
Thanks Griddi.
