For the record; I am a "box keeper".

Some people may be more inclined to buy from me if they see that all the bits and bobs have also been looked after (as well as the lens, camera, whatever). So I may achieve a sale to someone when pitted against someone else advertising without the box, etc. - great

If it makes no difference to some, that's fine too.
Think about it; I suggest it is very unlikely to put someone off buying, is it - so where's the harm?

If others wish to recycle, as do I with almost everything I can (that I have no future use for), that's fine.

    Live and let live, Dave

That's for "warranty repair" and absolutely correct. I just sent an item in to them a couple of days ago. I was refering to returning items. Not for repair, but for ones money back. However, now that I think about it, that requirement is made by the local retailer, typically quoting it as being a Nikon requirement. Hmmm, considering the fact they don't require it in direct dealing with them, one has to wonder....

I doubt if the wrench comes in a box but rather a stupid plastic clip which is great for display but has to be broken to put the wrench to use ... I keep most of my boxes and was quite pleased when I had a problem with my Nikon to show the box the importer brought it into the country in .... no grey like more recent purchases
