Lovely!I love the image of the Screech Owl for the eyes, but the Red Tailed Hawks are my absolute favourites for the elegant beauty of the captures.

Interesting set of raptors, Richard. The screech owl is a cute bugger. The whole set are technically well executed. Though they might all benefit by a bit more room.

Besides being a nice photo venue, Hawkwatch (free admission) is a wonderful educational experience. I learned many things about raptors such as...
The ears of a barn owl are not directly across the owl's head. They are offset with one ear being lower on the skull than the other ear. This allows very directional hearing...
Adding to the offset ears, the barn owl has a set of feathers along the leading edge of each wing. These feathers break up the rush of air across the wing allowing totally silent flight...
The barn owl can hunt mice in total darkness using just the sound of the mice running along. A family of barn owls with owlets can rid an area of up to five thousand mice a year...
I was told by the Hawkwatch folks that barn owls are no threat to even small dogs. Their prey is mice...
