Focus Hold Button
Hi,can anyone tell me how to operate the focus hold button on Sony 70-300G SSM Lens?I am not sure if I press it then release when focussed or must I press and continue to hold till shot has been taken

Which Sony? DSLR or P & S? Never used one but for P & S, you point, press and take the picture. For Dslr, you can achieve focus and then shoot. Why not just give it a try with the method you suggest and see the result?

The focus hold button does what it says on the tin: it holds the focus as long as you hold the button down.

Hi Benjy,
iirc, ye can change the lens focus hold function tae DoF preview in the menus and use focus hold with on-camera buttons. Save faffing about on the lens. Also seem tae recall that it's camera body specific, so ye'll need tae check whether yours has that function .

Bernard - I think you are going to have to have a look at your user's manual.
One one of my cameras, the default setting is that it works as long as I hold the button down on my camera (nothing to do with the lens), on another is stays locked until I press the button again. I believe I can reprogram this default behavior, if I want to.
