I recently found a tool in my editor which I am rather keen on ...'fill flash' in PSP though I expect other editors have something similar

I also found the head a wee bit hot but that could be my uncalibrated monitor

Thanks for the different perspective on the shot. When I originally started to edit it I tried to reduce the shadows and pull out the whites but I found the Fox still too dark. It looked a little odd to me so I figured I'd play into the shadows.
I'm not sure if what I have really works but I like the way the shadows make the eye stand out. He's got really nice eyes and I think the shadows helps them stand out.

I will go back and try to reduce the highlights on his face. They are a bit bright.
