    Olympus 40-150mm 2.8

I am nearly ready to purchase 40-150mm Olympus lens. I have been warned
that this lens does not perform at all well in low light situations. Should I
worry, and if so, what are my alternatives?
    Cheers Mugge

Must be a new lens, is this for micro 4/3rds or 4/3rds cameras?

Are you sure it's the lens rather than the camera?

My newest camera is a higher end mFT 18MP Panasonic GX7 and the low light performance is awful when compared to my older Nikon D800 (which is not designed for low light per se). I suspect that both sensor pitch and contrast detect autofocus are the main culprits here, not the lenses themselves.

I'm going to move this to the equipment thread where it belongs.

It is a relatively new lenses telephoto zoom 40-150mm or 80-300mm on 35mm FF,the initial response has been positive , fast auto focus and quite, also very sharp a long with a price tag of around $1500 . Picks up where the 12-40mm leaves off. This is for 4/3 formats only.

I bought the lens and haven't looked back.
You'll have to be more explicit with what you're asking? I haven't had any problems in low light, but what exactly are you worried about?

    What camera(s) are you using?

What specifically does "low light performance" mean?

Also, who was it that warned you?
