Puerto Montt, Chile
This really needed the figures for scale.

Re: Puerto Montt, Chile
Gorgeous image, Brian. The scale really makes it.
I wonder if you can bring out more detail to make the part the people are standing on more interesting. There is a blue cast to the image that you might want (it makes it look cold) but if you don't want it you could attend to it.
Personally, I think it works even stronger as a monochrome.

Yes, completely different photo without the reference of scale. Nicely composed. Yes some PP might be in order. Maybe find true white and bring out some detail in the rocks.

Amazing image, but I am a bit with Mike here, as I would think too,the image would even show more impact in B/W.........

Re: Puerto Montt, Chile
That is quite a scene Brian and I'm not sure that I would be skiing in the neighborhood of those very large crevices
I agree with others on the processing suggestions and think a bit of work could really take this image to the next level!

Re: Puerto Montt, Chile
Most of these are pretty much straight from the camera jpegs. I have several thousand of these shots to get through to select for a slideshow for the neighbors and record of the trip. I am looking at various crops, etc and I will be doing a lot more PP on them as that project goes on. I did crank the saturation for the container shot from Buenos Aires but not much more.
Once that is done I will be pulling some like this one and the containers for more processing to enter exhibitions. Monochrome is definitely on the cards for some of them and I have several other container shots to work with.
As to this one, it is summer in the southern hemisphere and although this is a ski resort, nobody will be skiing until winter and further snowfall sets a good base.
I'm also trying to decide if I can leave the DSLRs at home in favor of the Nikon V2 for travel.

Re: Puerto Montt, Chile
Here is a different crop and monochrome rendition.
I think I like this better. Eliminating the dark outcropping on the right lets the other frame the figures and the lines of rock and snow bring the eye to the figures or seem to radiate from them.
This one may have some potential in exhibitions.

Amazing image Brian, I prefer the monochrome crop myself!
