I like it Matt...I agree with you in your thoughts here...pining already for summer...suffer a little bit more of the clouds and occasional rain, mate!!! And this is from one who is enjoying the warmth of Oz...I saw the sunshine a while ago now it disappeared and a bit cloudy and windy and muggy. YUK! I will be glad to go back to the cold...for a while.

Mark, nice capture, I like it........we just came through a heatwave with +40C here, so as we have hot and dry summers here, I am truly looking forward to some Autumn rain and cooler temperatures .........

I love the subject & the colours, but I do like Matt's crop suggestion.

Yes, for me the background just adds distraction from the main subject.

Personally I find it a bit squeezed on the top, but i do see the less distraction aspect

edit - and it certainly adds focus to the insect as the subject

I prefer the original shot, Mark...although this one is good too. the first one has more elements to it.

Thanks Izzie, I can see the focus changes quite dramatically on the cropped version and it is good so very worthwhile, but for me the first with the additional OOF flowers puts the flower into context and that was my aim when I took the shot
