A girl on a rock & a tree in a storm at sunset

Well it was back to the favourite spot with the lone tree for me last night. This time my daughter came along for the ride.
She was after a nice photo of herself at sunset....she is I must confess a trifle vain, I do forgive this because she does have a University degree a full time job and has moved out of home, so not all bad!
The whole 'photo of me' is also ok, as she now has companies sending her their goods to wear in photos and share them online...so she's happy...
anyway, I digress, here are the pics

The 'Fashionista' should be enormously pleased and proud of these images. She looks stunning. But with image-making of this quality anything's going to look stunning (don't tell her I said that!). Tremendous photography. A set of four top-drawer images.

Nice series, very crisp lighting on the first image.

Thankyou all for your kind comments, it was an interesting evening. The rain started when we arrived, so we had to wait for a bit, tossed up weather we should go home, but glad we didn't!
There was quite an interesting character wandering around as well, we were a bit ill at ease in his presence...but I just thought oh well Im sure a tripod is as good a weapon for self defence as any!

Thanks Dave! The light for the first one when we arrived was amazing...sometimes you get lucky, I had to look twice at the screen, as it didn't feel that bright.

Great set, Kay. You certainly picked the right day to shoot these, the lighting is wonderful.

With the first shot, it looks like you have positioned your daughter to take advantage of the cloud formation - which has put her in the centre of the image. I think this shot might be better if she were a bit to the right. I don't mean thirds - no point being slavish to guides - but if you have cropped this shot and have a few more pixels on the left of frame, I like to see her moved to the right a (frame) centimetre or so.

Thanks Greg, I did put her in that spot for the cloud pattern on purpose you are right. I did make a square crop for the Instagram account, of the watch brand company, is it something like what you mean? Or too far?

Nice work. They all 'ring my chimes' as they say, especially #3 and #4. To really nit pick, maybe would have like a bit of a crop in #1 to bring the subject more into prominence. She seems just a bit too far away.
And whilst you are out with the scissors in action perhaps a little trim off the left hand edge in #4, where the loss of some of the sky and rock would not be missed; again to bring the subject into slightly more prominence. However this is only a personal opinion and may run counter to your basic concept in framing these shots.

Very nice set of images Kay with only one small thought from me. It would have been nice to see something of her face, if only in profile. To my mind (i.e. IMHO) the inclusion of some ones features adds to the overall interest.

All beautiful! Gorgeous light. I think my favourite is the last one for the gorgeous sunlit sky and sense of wonder.

I like them all. Very nice light and colors. I think B&W image might look better in color .

These are good sets of composition (apart from #1,the edit is much better positioning-wise) and such beautiful clouds these last few days here too coupled with rain here and there. We even saw a rainbow along the Hume freeway going towards Werribee that prompted us to sing I Can See A Rainbow with our little almost-two princess at the back in her baby seat. My favourite is the last one...and the rework for #1 when you make it a little longer on the side instead of a square crop....
