Very interesting Scott -- the top (or was that the bottom?) of the shot looks more like an alien boss from The Independence Day...I watch too many independence day movie, all the same one...

I love the detail, patterns, coloring, bokeh, composition> Also that you can see how the spinneret is producing the webbing and how the legs are pulling the web into position!
