Frozen Geyser at Letchworth State Park

    Hi Everybody,

So I saw Letchworth State Parks frozen geyser on Good Morning America and figured that since I live within 45 minutes of the park that I'd go photograph it. I just got back and it's -3*F in all of these photos. The geyser is still shooting snow and ice out of the top which is neat to see in person. It's about 50 feet tall and rising. It'll start melting next week when temps get into the 30's. I hope you enjoy!

Random dude with flip phone taking a picture. Asked if I could use him for perspective with the sun out and he said "suuuuure"

HDR surreal looking photo I made using 6 different exposures.

Pretty impressive, I know we do not get "cold" like that here.

That really is something! If you go back (you're probably so cold already that you won't feel the pain), consider doing some close-up shots of the ice and snow. They might even appear as abstracts.

I agree with Mike, some close ups might work well.

    Hi Mike,

I did one close up HDR that came out pretty good...maybe an abstract but I think it looks cool. Check it out.

Though that one is up closer, I was thinking of being so close that the photo would be just one or a few groups of icicles topped with snow.

Amazing! I like the close up HDR a lot , but the guy with the flip phone really adds perspective...

My wife wants me to take her to see it this weekend before it warms up outside. I'll try to get a nice close shot and post it for you.
