    Locks

Locks represent many things: Safety, security, hope, fear, expectation, abandonment, fear, prohibition, danger....

The list is endless; on my last tour to some old town, i saw many locked up rooms and show rooms and i had a chance to capture the images of many locks. So i thought of presenting some presentable one here; hope you all don't mind; please contribute, if you have some....

I'm not sure you hit the proper exposure on the second one but I like them both. I like your subject matter and I find it fascinating to see the small differences between our lives and surroundings. Keep 'em coming! Love it!

...I wish you had a close up of the third one.

Hi Nandakumar , I loved the first one. IMO It would also look good in B&W. I had a lock photo taken when I first started photography , it was a JPG one. If I can find it , I will upload it for you.

I tried to edit the JPG file , because I wasn't shooting raw then. My lock is a bit rough and rusty though.

    Re: Locks

It seems that there aren't many members who shot locks Nandakumar . Old locks and old doors with a lot of texture and color are very good subjects for photography though. I decided to work on those subjects in the near future. Thanks for the inspiration.

Your all locks interestingly have the same shape. Is this the usual lock type which is used for doors in India?

    Re: Locks

Its a very interesting subject. Locks are something we take for granted every day. I never thought of taking photos of them. Great series

Pictures of locks. I mean what!! I, one demented day, took pictures of doors.
Keep on doing it. I would like to see some in b & W though.

Binnur, I think this one would be an excellent candidate for a Black and white conversion.

    Re: Locks

John, Barbara, Brian, Binnur, Chris, Ole and Mark, thank you all very much for your inspirational and encouraging support; i feel very spirited now.

Binnur, Godrej is India's oldest lock system makers, even though in recent times there are many companies. I think many of the ones seen here are from Godrej

Binnur, Ole- I definitely post some B&W now
