    Fun with Herons

Thought I'd share these, certainly not for their technical or artistic appeal but just for a laugh

No 1 - Ok get ready I'll help you get your first heron in flight capture
    Fun with Herons

No 2 - Mrs heron to Mr heron "stop walking away while I'm talking to you"
    Fun with Herons

No 3 - Ok, I'll get closer for one shot so you don't have to crop then please b****r off and stop pestering us
    Fun with Herons

Beautiful shots Grahame! Is there room in #2 for a bit more sky?

I do like the framing as well

Hi Grahame: These are fun and the beautiful beach makes me long for a nice summer day in the midst of this cold, brutal winter. Where on earth did you find talking herons? Must be a sub species or genetic mutation...

Lovely images... Very artistic with beautiful colours. #2 is my favourite.

    Enjoyed your commentary.

Grahame is getting involved in critter training...posing, talking, whatnot.

    Those backlit herons are pretty.

Nice images Grahame. My best is #2 . I would like to see some more sky like Matt, but you might have cropped the sky deliberately because of the blown out part.

There is a bit more sky in the original and it's a bit blown but I'll have a look and see what I can recover plus to keep the same aspect a bit of the bottom could be cropped.

I attempted to use the same language technique with these as I do with my macro critters, does it work, not a clue

As I'm unlikely to get anything decent this time of day (sundown) the silhouette with the sun reflection on the water seems worth exploring. I'm wondering if flash may be something to look into based on No 3 which was shot at only 1/100s.
