    Winter Sunflower

I love to take photos outdoors, but when it's -6F (-21C), I'd rather take pics indoors. This sunflower was in front of a window with lots of snow outside. It's much warmer in here.

A very nice image, Donna. The shallow depth of field has given you a nice, out of focus background to show off your sunflower.

As we get into March tomorrow, I have high hopes of warmer temperatures and better outdoor shooting conditions in the not to distant future. While I do like shooting outdoors in the winter, there is just too much prep involved and I find myself using that as an excuse to stay indoors.

Nicely captured, nothing wrong with taking advantage of warmer settings.

Thanks for the comment, Manfred. I too keep hoping for warmer weather because I love being outdoors. Spending the day finding interesting subjects for photography is awesome!

I agree, John, that taking advantage of warmer indoor temps is nice. After bundling up to go outside, I lose some interest in taking pics. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Thanks, Binnur. I also liked the contrast of the two colors.

Lovely! I also love the framing, colours and clean background, along with the depth of field and the beautiful detail seen throughout the flower.

Nicely done. I'm with you on shooting outdoors in the cold. Shameful to live in Alaska and can't stand shooting in the cold. But there it is

I hate to think how cold I am when I'm trying to get a good picture. All I can think of is getting warm and getting out of all those extra layers of clothing. I think Alaska would be a wonderful place for photography. Your website is awesome, Dan You do know how to capture the wild!
