I was wondering if squirrels would count as pets. I feed one (and her friends) at my place. She comes when I call, she lets me know if I'm late with the food, and I have to clean up after her. Seems a lot like my cats except the cats don't come when I call them. Now for critters who aren't Dogs & Cats...
This is Foamy the Squirrel,
Great shot.
David, Tracker has such a sweet face!
Hi Wendy,
Ragdolls(a cross between Burmen and Persian cats) are the second largest breed.I think the Maine Coon is the largest.
The Ragdolls don't have an undercoat,so their fur doesn't get matted.Very easy to take care of.Brush them twice a week and they're good to go.

Pretty Boy. I had budgies for pets when I was young (and rabbits and mice and hamsters and guiena pigs and dogs and cats). The budgies used to like looking in the mirror and we would train them to say "Pretty Boy" or Pretty Girl. I guess the Pretty Boy thing wouldn't go over to well these days.
My Grandmother raised budgies, there were so many different colours and they seemed quite easy to train.
Do you have more than Wall-E. I seem to remember a post of yours with a blue budgie.
Wendy
WOW! Wendy you really got a good memory! Yes, This Wall-E has an Eva, too Will post their pic together soon. They kind of get scared looking at the HUGE lens. P&S was ok for them
And I haven't given my budgies any mirror because that ways they fall in love with themselves and ignore their mate and don't socialise, making their training difficult. It takes lots of patience to teach them to speak.
Ahh, very interesting I didn't know that about the mirrors. I only had 1 at a time so no harm done I guess.
At this stage of my life I doubt I would have the patience to train them to speak. When I was young though, it seemed pretty easy. They were always on my shoulder or somewhere close when I was at home, and I was talking to them all the time.
I think we have some Maine Coon cats at the forum too. Hope to see them again in this thread, and more of Willie and Mimi.Ragdolls(a cross between Burmen and Persian cats) are the second largest breed.I think the Maine Coon is the largest.
Excellent! I had a domestic longhair (adopted from the pound so I don't know specific breed) a few years back - before the digital age so I don't have any shots to post. She had an undercoat and did not like being combed AT ALL which caused a lot of trouble for both of us. We worked it out though. The Ragdolls don't have an undercoat,so their fur doesn't get matted.Very easy to take care of.Brush them twice a week and they're good to go.
My budgies don't come to me when they are out of their cage, as yet! Well the trick is to record what you want your budgies to speak and play it near them. They will give up and start speaking what you want them to
Wendy,
Foamy, just like your Squirrel neighbor that you provide food for, should be considered more as people who just happen to not be human.
Foamy is a rescue that a friend of mine became mommy to after a Dog attacked their nest. The siblings didn't survive and Foamy was so young that her eyes hadn't yet formed. My friend raised her and she is just as wild, technically referring to her capability of making her own decisions, as any Squirrel you'd see in a park. Except Foamy knows nothing of other Squirrels, she can not stand the wilds of out doors, a breeze coming in through the window upsets her, and she believes my friend is her mommy. She has a cage to keep her safe and out of trouble.
Apart from being a bit obcessive/compulsive about all nuts being her's, Foamy is a Squirrel raised and educated to a civilized life

Heidi (I think I spelt that right) in one of her more docile moments (it lasted all of 2 mins!) and being tormented by someone with a hat and scarf. Really would like to get one of her in the garden like this, but she wasn't up for the idea
