Pet Portraits - please post them here

There are only a few guide lines I kindly ask you to follow when you post your images:

1. The portraits must be of pets or with pets as the main subject please
2. One pet portrait per post only * this will allow us to relate comments easier
3. The author can - should - add comments to his/her own picture - do tell us a little about your mutt, moggy, budgie or whatever and how the picture came to be captured
4. SCPP, nSCPP, any shape you like

* You don't have to put all pet pictures in this thread - if you have a series that tells a story, do just start a new thread (in this forum) instead.

This thread has arisen as I thought it high time that 'pet power' had its own defined thread, we've had various cat and dog threads in the past, but they eventually die out through lack of use, hopefully this will persist as Antonio's hugely successful SCP and nSCP portrait threads have.

An old shot of one of my cats. Looks pretty Innocent doesn't he? Actually he is a 12 year old tyrant and thinks he is the king of the street. He was 7 when I got him; I kept the name Buttons, but Attila would be more suitable.
For this shot, he plopped himself down on some material that I was working on. I thought he looked good on red so I got the camera out.

Now for critters who aren't Dogs & Cats...

This is Foamy the Squirrel, named after the Internet Cartoon character, photographed as she's trying to find a place to hide her pecan. Like all Squirrels, she is more than just a bit possessive and obsessive compulsive when it comes to "her" nuts and treats.

This macro photo was taken with my Sigma SD14 through my Sigma 28mm EX DG Aspherical Macro lens at f/1.8, 1/60th, ISO 100.

This mommy 'Roo, a Tammar Wallaby, came over to check out what I was doing in their yard, but she became shy when I took her photo. Photographed on November 6, 2009 with my Sigma SD14 through my Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Macro Zoom lens at 119mm, f/8, 1/400th, ISO 200.

This is Heather, my Tobiano Pinto mare photographed on October 25, 2008 with a Sigma SD14 through a Sigma 28mm EX DG Aspherical Macro lens at f/6.3, 1/400th, ISO 100. The addition of a film grain with Silver Efex Pro in Post processing yielded this Bleach Bypass effect.

I love the shots of Socks and Poppy, Dave. And Socks looks a lot like our cat (Gabby). She's one of my favorite subjects, because she has a built-in white balance.
